The FIRST Trade

I am both excited and sad today. The first trade took place last Monday in St. George's Bay in Malta, right in front of the Cinema. Melody, the Squeaking Chicken, went to Matthew Debattista from Gzira, Malta, in exchange of a piece of a semi-precious stone, possibly an unrefined amethyst. I am happy I finally did my first trade, but I know I will miss Melody, the Squeaking Chicken. I hope Matthew will take good care of her.

Melody the Squeaking Chicken's replacement is a brown stone, with different shades of blue, purple and green crystals emerging through it, and approximately 1 inch by 1 inch in size. A very pretty stone, and a fit replacement for Melody the Squeaking Chicken. I look at the stone and wonder what the story behind it is. Was it found in the streets? Was it bought in a shop? Was it bought online? Was it used in Witchcraft? And the questions continue....

A few months later...

A few months passed since I initially started writing in this Blog, and I kind of forgot about the squeaking chicken, until I opened my drawer this morning and heard a familiar squeaking noise coming from under the tons of stuff inside. I recognized it immediately! It was THE SQUEAKING CHICKEN. She was calling out to me, asking me to take out, and I certainly couldn't abandon her again and leave her in there all alone amongst all the old and unused stuff.

I took her out and placed her on the cupboard, until a new owner can be found, but I couldn't just leave her there. Something was missing, but couldn't quiet realize what. Then it clicked.... She didn't have a name! So I decided to name her MELODY.

Melody is now sitting on the cupboard waiting for her forever home, for a new owner who will take care of her or give her to a pet. She knows, just as much as I do, that she has a purpose in life.

A few days later...

It's been a few days since the SQUEAKING CHICKEN blog was started, and hence a few days since the SQUEAKING CHICKEN was put up for trade in order for it to be swapped.

The poor SQUEAKING CHICKEN is still lying at the bottom of the cold, dark drawer with all the other unwanted stuff, and waiting. ... Waiting for a prospective new owner. Will she ever find one? Could you be the one?

Hello, and Welcome to my blog.

I'm sure you all read the story of 'oneredpaperclip', where a red paper clip was turned into a house through several trades in a year.

Well, I had a Squeaking Chicken lying in one of my drawers at home. A brand new toy, which was originally bought for my Australian Shepherd. I couldn't really throw it away, so I decided to put it on here, and see what I could turn it into.
